CHICAGO, IL, December 11, 2011 /Environment PR News/ -- Urban Sustain announced today that it again received a grant from the Heineman Foundation for Research, Education, Charitable and Scientific Purposes. The $25K grant, will allow Urban Sustain to expand its "Exposure 101" program to reach more Chicago-area youth. Exposure 101, first launched in the summer of 2006, served 20 at-risk youth from Chicago's South Shore community, targeting disadvantaged youth with a focus on Environmental Health. Additionally, the Exposure 101 program is specifically designed to challenge urban youth to appreciate their current surrounding by identifying core environmental problems that affect their day-to-day existence in the face of youth violence. Urban Sustain, a 501 3 c nonprofit organization founded in 2006, seeks to transform the lives of youth by raising social consciousness, through education and leadership development on environmental health concerns in violence plagued communities.
