Knowledge Well Announces 2011 Infrastructure Sustainable Solutions Series

Expert Presentations and Interactive Training by World-Class Professionals

RALEIGH, NC, November 05, 2011 /Environment PR News/ -- Knowledge Well, a non-profit consulting organization aimed at sharing and delivering expertise to emerging and under-resourced areas in the world, will be holding a seminar series in Raleigh on December 7th and 8th, 2011.

The program on the 7th is entitled: LIDAR: The Beginning of BIM Learn from Experts How Optical Remote Sensing Technology LIDAR is Integrated into Today's Building Information Modeling [BIM] and is designed to highlight the benefits of optical remote sensing technology LIDAR in today's business information modeling [BIM] environments.

Knowledge Well's program will open with David Lee Fagerman, who will be present practical uses of LIDAR for planning and environmental mandates. Fagerman, RPLS/PLS is a transportation and infrastructure expert who has worked in the surveying and civil engineering industry for more 30 years. He began his career in roadway and boundary surveying with the U.S. Forest Service, then later moved into commercial consulting, providing services in surveying, civil engineering, construction layout, and photogrammetric control.

LIDAR is an effective tool for land surveyors, planning and GIS professionals, civil engineers and designers, heavy construction contractors, and others seeking to improve their process of data collection and analysis. There is a steep learning curve on research and comprehension involving certain aspects of this remote sensing technology, and this is a great opportunity to learn.

December 8th's program focuses on Sustainable Building Solutions from a BIM Government & Owner Perspective. Those involved with design and construction initiatives in the government and utilities will hear from Chris Tisdel, Former State of Texas Director of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other Global BIM experts as they discuss the concepts of BIM, how government agencies can implement BIM, and the long-term benefits that BIM offers. Building information modeling design solutions have already been widely implemented in the AEC industry.

Each series features eight professional development hours of presentation and research, which can be registered for immediately.

Other speakers in the series will include:
• Riadh Munjy, PhD Fresno State Professor
• Jeffery Garland, PE, PMP NC State Value Engineer NC DOT
