October 05, 2011 /Environment PR News/ -- Nationally recognized animal advocate Tara Harper will provide the opening remarks at the American Humane Association's National Humanitarian Award Dinner honoring Temple Grandin.
Tara Harper has been invited to speak at the American Humane Association's National Humanitarian Award Dinner honoring Dr. Temple Grandin.
The event will be held at 5:30 pm October 7th at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, TX. The ceremony honors Temple Grandin, whose pioneering efforts reshaped animal welfare and the livestock-handling industry--resulting in better lives for millions of farm animals and greater awareness of animal welfare and humane treatment among millions of people. Anthony Edwards, who is the longtime television star from the series ER, will present the award.
Ms. Harper has recently gained national attention after being cast in the reality television show Most Eligible Dallas appearing on Bravo. However, she has been well known for many years in the North Texas community as the co-founder of Paws in the City animal rescue based in Dallas, TX founded in 2005.
"It is such a rare opportunity to be a part of an event to honor a pioneer like Dr. Grandin; it is definitely a privilege to not only attend but actually participate in the ceremony. It will be a wonderful evening and I'm very much looking forward to it," said Ms. Harper.
Ms. Harper's national presence as an animal advocate continues to grow. In fact, this event is the 2nd consecutive American Humane Association event she is attending as she was selected as a celebrity judge for the National Hero Dog Awards in Los Angeles on October 1, 2011.
Tickets for American Humane Association's National Humanitarian Award Dinner are still available and more information can be found at the AHA website.
