Sullivan Landing Addresses Wildlife Concerns With Microclover

The new community in Kimberley, BC is testing a new microclover grass to better suit the community

KIMBERLEY, BC, July 23, 2011 /Environment PR News/ -- Today, Brian De Paoli of Sullivan Landing announced the new community in Kimberley, BC, will begin testing out a microclover landscape to reduce landscaping impact, cost, and to control the urban deer problem in the area. Testing will begin by August 1st, 2011 with updates on the progress being made regularly.

"Urban deer are a problem here in Kimberley," stated Sullivan Landing's Brian De Paoli, "and we want to seed our site with something that won't attract them. So we're looking at microclover. It stays green with very little water, and it grows so close to the ground it's difficult for deer to eat it, and it doesn't need to be mowed."

If the presence of urban deer in the community decreases with this initial testing, the remainder of the community of Sullivan Landing will be seeded with the microclover ground cover.

The conservation-focused community is dedicated to ensuring the natural habitants of the community continue to survive and hope that limiting their food possibilities within the city will force them back into nature, which is better for their safety.
