Atlanta Shredding Company Shred-Green Combines Recycling Efforts with Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment

Shred-Green, an Atlanta document shredding company, will be assisting in the 2011 Recycling Challenge hosted by the Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment.

ATLANTA, GA, March 09, 2011 /Environment PR News/ -- Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green is partnering with the Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment for a community recycling drive. The recycling event is a continuation of an ongoing partnership between D.A.T.E and Shred-Green.

In response to the success of previous recycling events, D.A.T.E is hosting its 2011 Recycling Challenge on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Shred-Green will be on-site with its mobile Atlanta paper shredding truck, shredding secure and personal documents for free. All shreds from the event will then be recycled. In addition to the paper, the school will be accepting cooking oil, electronics, glass, ink cartridges, plastic, and even tennis shoes. Participants can bring gold and silver to be recycled and walk away with cash.

Participants for the Recycling Challenge are encouraged to label and sort their recyclables into bags, boxes, and containers so they may record the number of containers on the recycling form provided to them upon registration. Each item is worth a certain number of points, with the various classes competing to have the most points donated on their behalf.

Kathy Perkins, owner of Shred-Green, is looking forward to her company's part in the event. "Our partnership with the Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment is a special one. Their goals fit well with our core values. We are pleased to be able to offer our services for such a worthy cause."
