UK Energy Saving Urges Consumers to Make a Change in 2011

UK Energy Saving launches campaign to encourage energy saving and ethical living

December 18, 2010 /Environment PR News/ -- Living a greener, more ethical lifestyle can seem like a big mountain to climb as an individual or family, used as society in the UK is to running water, constant energy supplies and an abundance of consumer goods. But it is only by acting individually that society as a whole can make a difference to the impending problems of climate change and the on-going issue of injustice and unsustainability, which is why popular consumer website www.uk-energy-saving.com is urging everyone to 'Make a Change' in their lives in 2011.

Hayley Jones, Web Marketing Director at UK Energy Saving, explains further. "Saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint may seem like an onerous task but actually it is possible for everyone to make a difference, and it may not be as difficult as people believe. There are many small ways we can do this, including using energy saving light bulbs and walking rather than using the car for short journeys. And even some of the seemingly bigger tasks, such as insulating your home, are both relatively inexpensive (especially with the availability of grants) and also offer very real monetary as well as carbon savings. Equally, we can all do our bit to stamp out unsustainable and unjust business models. This might include buying Fairtrade products or ensuring your savings are in an ethical bank and of course there is an overlap with green living. This coming year we are therefore encouraging everyone to find ways to make theirs a greener, more ethical life. Each month we will post two new suggestions, one green and one ethical, on our homepage and blog, as well as invite our visitors to pass on their own tips."

More information on 'Make a Change' from www.uk-energy-saving.com will appear on the UK Energy Saving Blog (http://uk-energy-saving.blogspot.com) in due course with the energy saving suggestions starting in January 2011.
