Being Green Starts at Home

Keeping things green at home with LED Lighting, a new solar panel system and residential energy audits.

PHOENIX, AZ, December 09, 2010 /Environment PR News/ -- As winter approaches, SKY Renewable Energy is keeping things green at home with LED Lighting, a new solar panel system and residential energy audits.

At their Phoenix offices, SKY Renewable Energy has replaced 25 percent of their interior lighting with LED lighting fixtures which is just the first phase of this sustainable upgrade. While LED is initially more cost per fixture, it has a life span of approximately six times that of a fluorescent and the total cost to use an LED is approximately less than 50 percent of a fluorescent.

SKY Renewable Energy also has three different solar panel systems already installed on their roof, so they can experience the systems for themselves. "They are the same panels and systems we install for clients which contain only USA made products, said SKY Renewable Energy Vice President Scott Young.

Before the end of the year, SKY will install a new, cutting edge solar panel system on the roof of the SKY Renewable Energy offices which they hope to be installing for clients in 2011. "We will try it here first," said Young of the new solar panel system which represents the latest technology and is believed to be the market leader for the next few years.

SKY Renewable Energy Director of Northern Arizona Regional Kurtis DeMarse recently brought SKY Renewable Energy into his home. "Of course when my wife and I wanted a residential energy audit, we hired SKY, said DeMarse, who oversees operations in the SKY Flagstaff Office. As a result, the DeMarse family installed double paned windows in their home to stay warm and green this winter.
