Atlanta Shredding Company Shred-Green Partners with Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment

Shred-Green, an Atlanta document shredding company, has partnered with the Dekalb Academy of Technology and the Environment to expand their recycling program and help the school comply with laws regarding secure information.

ATLANTA, GA, October 13, 2010 /Environment PR News/ -- Chip Perkins, a principal of Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green, recently spoke with the PTO of the Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment (D.A.T.E.), advising parents on how to protect their identity and personal information. The speaking engagement was part of an on-going partnership between Shred-Green and D.A.T.E.

Located in metro Atlanta, the Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment is a public charter school serving grades K-8 with a focus on problem-solving. The school has consistently been recognized as one of the best charter schools in Georgia. D.A.T.E. is committed to environmental responsibility; the school runs a comprehensive recycling program, and has even led projects for the students to recycle used cooking oil into bio-diesel.

Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green shares this dedication to the environment, using energy-efficient shredding equipment and recycling all shreds. The Dekalb Academy of Technology and Environment uses Shred-Green for its Atlanta document shredding needs for both the school and the parents. Shred-Green also is planning fund-raising events for D.A.T.E., and supports educational initiatives related to recycling or identity theft prevention through events such as Chip Perkins' recent speaking engagement at the PTO.

Shred-Green owner Kathy Perkins is pleased that their Atlanta document shredding company is able to help D.A.T.E. recycle their papers containing sensitive information. "Because we are like-minded in recycling, this is really a wonderful partnership," she explains. "We are helping the school remain compliant with laws regarding secure information. We are providing a piece of the puzzle that they were missing previously in the recycling arena."

Shred-Green has been working with the DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment to provide Atlanta shredding services and community outreach since June of this year. Shred-Green looks forward to future opportunities for their Atlanta shredding company to assist D.A.T.E. with their recycling and educational efforts.
