Center Parcs Achieves Carbon Trust Standard

Center Parcs is delighted to announce that it has achieved the Carbon Trust Standard for all its UK sites.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, ENGLAND, August 15, 2010 /Environment PR News/ -- Center Parcs is delighted to announce that it has achieved the Carbon Trust Standard for all its UK sites. Following rigorous assessments of Center Parcs' carbon reduction measures, by an independent assessor, the Carbon Trust Standard was presented to Center Parcs in acknowledgment for its efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

In order to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard, organisations must provide an accurate footprint measurement including all required emission sources, demonstrate an absolute reduction of your footprint or equivalent relative efficiency improvement and demonstrate good carbon management including carbon governance, accounting, reduction methods and targets.

Center Parcs is the leader in the UK short break holiday market and champions the way forward for the protection of the natural environment within the UK tourist and leisure industry.

Paul Kent, Commercial Director said: "Initially, we identified some of our biggest environmental impacts and we are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint in these areas. The Carbon Trust Standard demonstrates our commitment to the reduction of our carbon footprint and will continue to be an integral part of our business strategy in the coming years."
