Kimberly R. Shaw Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Kimberly R. Shaw assists in improving the water quality across the state of Oklahoma
NORMAN, OK, August 24, 2009 /Environment PR News/ -- Kimberly R. Shaw, Educator, Blue Thumb Educator of The Oklahoma Conservation Commission, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in water conservation education.
As blue thumb educator for The Oklahoma Conservation Commission, Ms. Shaw specializes in field work in the monitoring of bug and fish collection. She is responsible for teaching about water conservation and non-point source pollution, overseeing data entry, writing articles, leading fish and benthic macroinvertebrate (creek bug) collections to determine the quality of the water and assisting in training volunteers so they can chemically test a local creek monthly. Blue Thumb is part of the State of Oklahoma Conservation Commission, which is a nonprofit organization that provides water conservation and water quality education. She became involved in her profession because of her love for science and the outdoors. She attributes her success to the support she receives form her family and friends.
Ms. Shaw received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Oklahoma in 2001.
